Nicholle and Sam’s intimate Bath wedding took place just before Christmas—a beautiful celebration with their closest people, in one of our favourite cities to shoot. With a destination wedding in Italy still to come, this day was a quieter prelude, filled with warmth, understated style, and plenty of joy.
There’s something really special about a micro wedding. The pace feels different—slower in the best way. With fewer people around, there’s space to be present, to actually take it all in. It also means you can shape the day exactly how you want it. Nicholle and Sam chose to get ready together at their hotel before walking hand in hand through the city streets to the Registry Office. There was no timeline pressure, no big production—just genuine connection and a sense of ease from start to finish.
After the ceremony, a Champagne spray in the Circus (an iconic Bath moment if there ever was one) marked the shift into celebration mode. Friends and family gathered at Beckford Bottle Shop for drinks, laughter, and the most photogenic pavlova we’ve ever seen. We stole a little time with the couple afterwards to shoot some portraits in golden winter light, mixing digital and analogue photography for a layered, editorial feel.

This intimate Bath wedding was a brilliant example of how small doesn’t have to mean simple. With the right priorities—connection, atmosphere, meaning—it can feel just as full as any hundred-person party.
