Invited by the renowned Marta Ilardo to second shoot for Mariana and Tom’s Tuscan wedding, we found ourselves in the heart of Tuscany, capturing the epitome of Italian wedding photography perfection. As second photographers, we had the privilege of witnessing the magic unfold and adding our unique perspective to this luxurious affair.
Under the Tuscan sun: A leisurely start
A notable perk of marrying in Tuscany, especially in warmer climates, is the flexibility to arrange events later to avoid the midday heat. Mariana and Tom capitalised on this, starting their day at 1pm after a relaxed morning by the pool with friends and family. Tom’s preparation, captured by us, exuded a super chilled vibe with last-minute adjustments to speeches – a perfect blend of fun and anticipation.
Ceremony splendour at Casa Blanca
Held in one of Casa Bianca‘s enchanting courtyards, the ceremony space was a visual delight with the main building on one side, a small chapel on the other, and Tuscan trees framing the aisle. Guests, dressed in black tie, heightened the atmosphere of sophistication. A live pianist and a groomsman playing the violin accompanied the bridal party’s procession, making it a truly Tuscan spectacle.
Post-ceremony elegance
With the ceremony concluded, the celebration moved to Casa Bianca’s front for a delightful drinks reception. While Marta orchestrated group shots, we focused on candid moments, weaving the narrative of joy and celebration. To add a unique touch, Marina and Tom had arranged for live fashion illustrations by Rachel Leahy, providing guests with personalised keepsakes.
Golden hour bliss: Italian wedding photography perfection
As the sun began its descent, we stole a moment with the couple for portraits around Casa Bianca’s grounds, basking in the Tuscan sun. This enchanting session seamlessly transitioned into the sunset, creating a magical atmosphere.
An Italian feast fit for royalty
Casa Bianca’s chefs delivered an Italian culinary extravaganza – an 8-course feast that showcased the best of Italian cooking. The table, adorned with breathtaking florals by Fiori Quotidiani, elevated the dining experience, making it a luxurious affair. Amidst speeches filled with laughter and touching sentiments, the true essence of Italian wedding photography unfolded.
Magical moments: Cake cutting and first dance
The evening continued with the cake cutting and a dreamy first dance surrounded by candles on the terrace. Mother-son and father-daughter dances added emotional touches, leaving not a dry eye in sight. The celebration transitioned to the Casa Bianca “nightclub” which set the stage for a night of joyous celebration.
As the night unfolded, Mariana and her bridesmaids reappeared in new party dresses, and we seized the opportunity for a quick photoshoot to showcase the new attire.
A heartfelt thank you to Marta Ilardo for inviting us to second shoot this incredible celebration, and, of course, to Mariana and Tom for entrusting us to capture the magic of their perfect day. Grazie mille!
