Tuscany has a way of making everything feel cinematic—the warm evening light, the rolling landscapes, the slow unfolding of the day. Invited by the incredibly talented Marta Ilardo to second shoot Mariana and Tom’s wedding, we had the opportunity to document a celebration that felt effortlessly elegant. This was Italian wedding photography at its finest—timeless, atmospheric, and full of movement.
One of the many advantages of a Tuscan wedding is the relaxed pacing, particularly in the summer months when the heat lingers into the afternoon. Mariana and Tom embraced this, starting their day with a slow morning by the pool before preparations began. Tom’s getting-ready moments were filled with an easy balance of fun and anticipation, last-minute speech tweaks, and the quiet excitement that builds before a ceremony.
The ceremony itself took place in one of Casa Bianca’s courtyards, framed by a chapel on one side and the villa on the other. Guests, dressed in black tie, lined the aisle as live music set the tone for the procession. The setting felt both intimate and grand, the kind of atmosphere that makes Italian wedding photography so compelling to capture.
After the ceremony, the front of the villa became the heart of the celebration, where guests gathered for a drinks reception beneath the warm Tuscan sun. While Marta led the group portraits, we focused on the moments unfolding in between—the laughter, the movement, the natural energy of the day.
As golden hour arrived, we took a moment with Mariana and Tom to explore the estate for portraits. Tuscany at this time of day is something else—the light spills effortlessly through olive groves, the warmth of the evening settles in, and everything slows down just enough to take it all in. As the sun dipped, the celebrations continued, moving seamlessly into an alfresco dinner under the stars, followed by speeches, dancing, and a late-night party that carried on well into the early hours.
