Izzy and Olly’s Kent wedding at the picturesque Brickwall House was a perfect blend of joy, sophistication, and pure fun. This adventure took us away from our Cotswold base to a new part of the country, and it was a privilege to capture their beautiful day. We love traveling and documenting weddings in new places, and this one was a special treat, especially with the addition of our Super 8 camera to enhance the memories.
The Morning Preparations
The day began at Izzy’s family home, just around the corner from the venue. Izzy, her family, and her many bridesmaids were busy with last-minute preparations. They were getting ready with the help of Lips and Locks doing hair and makeup by Emma Lily Curran, who did an incredible job. Despite the hustle and bustle, the atmosphere was relaxed, filled with laughter and the excitement of the day.
Groom’s Preparations and Dodging the Rain
Our second photographer, Natalie, met the groom and his party at the venue. Despite the morning rain, they put the finishing touches on the venue and warmly greeted arriving guests. Just before Izzy made her entrance in her dad’s vintage car, the rain cleared, and the sun made a magical appearance. As they swept down the driveway and roundabout in front of the house, cheers filled the air, showcasing the couple’s decision to make the day uniquely theirs.
A Unique and Joyful Kent Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony, presided over by Izzy’s younger brother, added a personal touch that was both beautiful and intimate. It featured a mix of readings and songs, creating an atmosphere of joy and heartfelt moments, a delight for us to capture.
Following the ceremony, guests created one of the longest confetti tunnels we’ve had the pleasure to capture, with our Super 8 camera and Natalie focusing on stills.
The drinks reception took place in the stunning gardens at Brickwall House. Champagne and canapés seemed endless, thanks to the incredible catering team from Season Wild and Free.
Capturing Moments in the Expansive Gardens of Brickwall House
Amidst the lush gardens, we managed to capture a few formal photos and some intimate couple shots. The expansive surroundings allowed us to wander without venturing too far from the festivities, capturing the couple’s love as they enjoyed their day with family and friends.
Memorable Speeches and a Rainbow Surprise
The wedding party moved into the main marquee for a sumptuous meal, preceded by a couple of heartfelt speeches. Izzy and Olly’s choice to have speeches both before and after the meal added a unique touch. As a rainstorm passed overhead during the meal, it left behind a magnificent rainbow stretching over the house and marquee, adding an extra touch of magic to this special day.
Dance, Joy, and Farewell
After the meal, guests chatted while we captured a few more photos of the happy couple. The day continued with the cake cutting and the first dance, where Izzy and Olly’s joy filled the room. As they danced, guests joined in, and the celebration continued long into the night.
This Kent wedding at Brickwall House was truly a day to remember, filled with love, laughter, and magical moments.
