Wow what a day! Caoimhe and Andy’s wedding was held at the incredible Old Gore by Yard Space in the centre of the Cotswolds just north of Cirencester. Not only is Old Gore beautiful with amazing attention to detail, they have clearly thought about it from a photo standpoint too with shots left right and centre.

The day started with Caoimhe and her bridesmaids getting ready at a lovely barn conversion in Poulton, ten minutes down the road from the Old Gore. It was a super relaxed morning with chilled music, prosecco and make up being done by Alice Taper Makeup. As the departure time neared and dresses went, on the excitement level built until it was time for Caoimhe to jump in the vintage wedding car and head over to the venue.

The ceremony space at Old Gore is held in a typically Cotswold-esque stone barn at the centre of the venue which has been wonderfully decorated with hanging flower displays and a fireplace at the end of the aisle. Two flower girls led the bridal party down the aisle to a patiently waiting Andy. The vows were incredibly personal, written by the couple – an emotional moment for everyone involved!

The guests were led out of the barn into the fresh December air to waiting staff who, alongside members of the bridal party, handed out the confetti. The couple descended the stairs with bucket loads of confetti being thrown by the cheering guests. As guests nibbled on canapés and sipped their Prosecco the couple and I headed off to grab some couples portraits around the grounds of the barn just as the light started to fade and we were lucky enough to get the start of golden hour before some clouds rolled in. With the chill in the air, we snapped away and then headed in to join the guests as they started to take their seats and the long banqueting style tables laid out by Old Gore – and what a banquet it was!

Speeches proceeded the food and were the perfect mixture of utterly hilarious and beautifully emotional. And now on to the food which was beyond delicious, all cooked on the open bbqs and fire pits that are on display outside the venue. I have to say it again: the food was incredible!

After food and lots of nattering the cake cutting came next, with a delicious cake courtesy of Caoimhe’s mum! This was followed by the first dance back in the main barn. And as the first dance came to an end, it didn’t take a lot of encouragement from the couple to get the rest of the guests on the dance floor where they went wild! After an hour or so of dancing it was time for sparklers which was met by very willing crowd of guests who braved the chilly night to cheer the couple down the sparkler aisle and into married life.

As I slipped out saying a quiet goodbye to Caoimhe and Andy leaving the guests back on the dance floor partying the night away, I was given a classic Old Gore by Yard space pizza that I gratefully demolished on the drive home!
