‘We had a fantastic experience with Tom! He helped non-professional ‘models’ like us feel comfortable and be as natural as we can for the photos. The engagement photoshoot was filled with giggles! We got our final photos rapidly and we’re very pleased with the result! We’d highly recommend The Falkenburgs if you’re looking for any type of photography.’
Having tied the knot without a photographer and with plans to celebrate in Hoa’s native Vietnam, Nick and Hoa wanted a collection of images to share with family. We met them in Bristol for a (post wedding!) engagement photoshoot that blended natural landscapes with the city’s architectural charm.
Our session began at Ashton Court, a historic estate just outside the city. Its formal gardens and open parkland provided a beautifully varied setting, from sculpted greenery to sweeping views of Bristol. As we explored, hot air balloons drifted across the sky—a perfect, unexpected backdrop that added a little extra magic to the shoot.
From there, we headed into Clifton, capturing a shift in atmosphere with its quiet streets and grand Georgian architecture. The Clifton Suspension Bridge, an unmistakable landmark, framed some of our final shots, adding a strong sense of place to their story.
Nick and Hoa’s engagement photoshoot was all about creating meaningful images that celebrated their journey. If you’re looking for a portrait session—whether before or after your wedding—we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch to start planning.
