Earlier in the year, we had the immense pleasure of capturing the picturesque Somerset marquee wedding of Emma and Conrad. Nestled in the heart of Upton Noble near Frome, Wiltshire, Conrad’s parents’ house served as the enchanting backdrop for a day filled with panoramic views and heartfelt moments.
The morning preparations
Our day began in Frome, where Emma and Conrad had chosen a charming Airbnb to commence the day’s festivities. The air was infused with joy and laughter as close family and bridesmaids prepared for the day ahead. Laura Jane Hairstyling and Make up by Belle worked their magic on hair and makeup, creating a relaxed yet celebratory atmosphere. Meanwhile, some of Emma’s bridesmaids practiced Scottish dance moves, setting the tone for a day full of merriment.
Before heading to the church, we seized the opportunity to capture group shots outside the beautiful old schoolhouse building, adding a touch of nostalgia to the pre-wedding excitement.
Church wedding ceremony and confetti moments captured on Super 8
As Emma made her grand entrance, the personal touches of the service unfolded, creating a truly intimate atmosphere. The addition of Tom Brossard as second photographer allowed us to focus seamlessly on the couple’s Super 8 wedding film, ensuring every moment was artfully preserved.
Confetti-filled cheers accompanied the newlyweds as they departed for a quiet spot for some relaxed couples photos before heading back for their Somerset marquee wedding reception.
Relaxed Somerset marquee wedding reception
Returning to Conrad’s parents’ courtyard for the reception, we let Emma and Conrad revel in the company of friends and family before embarking on group shots. A delightful surprise came in the form of personal speeches by Conrad’s father and uncle, injecting warmth and personality into the proceedings.
As the sun dipped behind the hills, we stole a moment for golden hour shots, framing the couple in a warm, ethereal glow before indulging in a delicious feast by Victoria Blashford Snell.
Party time: Dance floor cheers and Scottish reeling
With the DJ orchestrating the festivities, Emma and Conrad took to the dance floor for their first dance, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.
Amidst the lively celebration, Scottish reeling added a touch of spontaneity, creating an atmosphere of pure joy and uninhibited fun. As the reels concluded, it was time for me to bid farewell, leaving behind a day etched in perfection.
