Ben and Susie’s wedding took place on what had to be the hottest day of the year—a true summer scorcher. Hosted at the breathtaking Cotswold wedding venue, Cerney House Gardens, just outside Cirencester, this setting is known for its lush, romantic gardens, making it the perfect backdrop for an intimate and stylish celebration.
Their ceremony unfolded in the heart of the gardens, surrounded by lavender and rose bushes, creating a setting that felt almost cinematic. After the vows and a relaxed drinks reception, guests made their way down to the front of the handsome Cerney House, where a marquee awaited for the wedding breakfast. This transition provided the perfect opportunity for some effortless couple portraits—guests were preoccupied, the light was softening, and Ben and Susie had a quiet moment to soak it all in. Wandering through the flower-lined paths of the gardens, it was impossible to take a bad photograph.
Dinner was a laid-back affair, featuring an incredible barbecue, followed by handcrafted cocktails from Elemental Mule. As the golden hour light peaked, I stole the couple away once more—this time up the hill to the meadow overlooking the house. With the sun setting behind them, it was the perfect finale to an already unforgettable day.
A huge thank you to Ben and Susie for having us along for the ride. If you’re planning your own Cotswold wedding and want a documentary-style approach that captures your day exactly as it unfolds, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch to chat about your plans.
