At the heart of the picturesque Frampton upon Severn stands the enchanting Gloucestershire wedding venue the Wool Barn, a venue steeped in history dating back to the 1560s. Kat and Harry chose this magnificent setting for their special day, and what a day it was!
A relaxed morning in Dursley
The day began not at Frampton but at Kat and Harry’s home in Dursley, Gloucestershire, just a short drive from the venue. The groom and his friends were enjoying a leisurely morning, complete with breakfast and camaraderie. As the photographer, I captured the easygoing moments and details of Harry’s wedding attire before making my way to the Orangery to join Kat.
Bridal preparations in the historic Orangery
The Orangery, another gem with its own rich history, served as the perfect backdrop for Kat’s preparation. The atmosphere was relaxed as Kat and her family indulged in a glass or two of prosecco while talented professionals from Fallon Hair and Make-up and Love Bird Makeup worked their magic. The incredible Anna Kara dress, adorned by Kat, became the centrepiece of some exquisite photos, making the most of the Orangery’s beautiful light-filled space.
A picturesque Church wedding
The bridal party, now ready and stylishly transported in a rented VW bus, made their way to the charming canal-side church on the edge of Frampton. The picturesque ceremony, accompanied by a few heartfelt tears, set the stage for a joyous confetti exit. Kat and Harry were greeted with cheers as they made their way back to Gloucestershire wedding venue, the Wool Barn for couple portraits amidst its stunning grounds.
Garden reception at Gloucestershire wedding venue, the Wool Barn
The Wool Barn’s lush gardens provided the backdrop for a delightful drinks reception, featuring canapés, cocktails, and champagne. While guests enjoyed the stunning surroundings, we took advantage of the time to capture family formal photos. As the reception transitioned to the meal, we seized the moment for a group shot with the entire party, showcasing the love and laughter that defined the day.
Pizza, wedding speeches and a relaxed atmosphere
The meal kicked off with speeches that struck the perfect balance of humor and heartfelt sentiments. Adding a unique touch, pizzas from Wood Chop Pizza were served seamlessly during the speeches, creating a relaxed atmosphere where guests could enjoy the meal while being entertained.
Golden hour at the Orangery
After the meal, Kat and Harry stole a moment for some golden hour portraits at the Orangery, bathed in the perfect evening light. The house and gardens provided a stunning backdrop for photos, capturing the flowing elegance of Kat’s dress. The evening continued with the first dance and cake cutting, with the cake crafted by Harry’s talented mum.
As the party unfolded, filled with laughter and dancing, I quietly said my goodbyes, grateful for the honour of capturing Kat and Harry’s Gloucestershire wedding day. It was an unforgettable celebration of love, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the couple for entrusting us with the privilege of documenting their wonderful day.
